Homelessness in Berkeley (The Daily Californian)

Homelessness is an often glossed-over topic. filled with generalizations, misconceptions, and quick judgments. Just wanted to give credit where credit’s due and commend The Daily Cal for an amazing job with their most recent feature, focusing on homelessness in Berkeley.

The feature includes several well-written articles about homelessness and interviews with local homeless people. I learned so much more about individual lives affected by homelessness – the staff did a great job interviewing a variety of people from all walks of life and really disproved the notion that homeless people are pretty much all the same.

Check out the feature here – I promise it will be well worth your time!

This feature along with DC’s recent article about former chancellor Chang-Lin Tien represent some of the newspaper’s finest efforts in recent times. As a former DC member, this makes me proud, and I hope that they will continue to put out similarly-awesome content like these in the future!
