Food Spotlight | Le Petit Cheval

There’s always this one restaurant next to your house that you see but never get around to actually trying, and one day, you finally just walk in.

Le Petit Cheval is that type of restaurant.

Located right next to campus, on Bowditch and Bancroft, this oft-forgotten Vietnamese (not French) restaurant could have existed in another dimension to me – I didn’t even know it was a restaurant until the second half of my freshman year, despite passing by every single day.

So I finally had the chance to try the place out with some people in ABA, and my verdict is that it’s not bad, but not memorable, either.

I ordered their lemongrass chicken, which came out to be around 10 dollars for dinner. Definitely on the pricey side, but I did get a ton of meat, and the dish was pretty good. They also have pho (finally, another pho place, albeit an average one), plus a bunch of other Vietnamese menu items.

The restaurant is nicely furnished, with flat-screen TVs and lots of space. Perfect to hold a dinner with a bunch of your friends. I would definitely come back sometime just to try out some of their other dishes.

But all in all, I’m glad I finally got around to eating at Le Petit Cheval.
