Stocks and Yu-Gi-Oh

Disclaimer: I never had a Yu-Gi-Oh! deck myself, but I had plenty of obsessive friends back in the day. I swear.

I attended an intro to stocks workshop yesterday to learn more about stocks and investments. For some reason, a portfolio, which is a collection of investments, reminded me of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.

When you invest, you want to have a portfolio that is diversified and gives good returns. This is exactly like building the ultimate deck in Yu-Gi-Oh! – you want a variety of cards that allows you to rack up those winnings.

Who knew that a bunch of holographic paper with cartoon illustrations would be so similar in concept to what keeps the New York Stock Exchange running?

Proves that you can relate almost anything in life to something else.

Gotta catch ’em all at randomtidbitsofthought.wordpress.com.
