Not too long ago, I talked about how there weren’t that many Chinese restaurants in Berkeley. Well, I went to Albany yesterday (just north of Berkeley) and tried China Village.
China Village touts itself as a Sichuan Restaurant. Sichuan is a province in China known for its numbingly spicy food. Excited, I ordered their “Classic” Sichuan Beef.
It tasted pretty good, but was very westernized and not at all spicy. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish.
I am going to be giving this restaurant another chance in the future, because the food was good (four-star Yelp reviews don’t lie) and there are lots of other (hopefully) spicier dishes in their menu.
