Food Spotlight | Thai Basil

Alright, this one’s for people who aren’t in Berkeley, because if you are in Berkeley, it’s almost certain you’ve tried Thai Basil. Actually, I’m a bit surprised I’ve haven’t done a spotlight on this restaurant yet.

This was my gateway restaurant to the Asian Ghetto. Delicious Thai food, served to order, always with Thai Iced Tea thrown in the mix. I’d recommend the Pad Thai. You just can’t go wrong with it. And if you’re up to the challenge, order this medium spicy.

Believe me, Thai Basil’s definition of medium is extra spicy. I’ve taken a few people here who weren’t able to handle it. Don’t tell me I didn’t warn you.

The Pineapple Curry entrees are also pretty good, as are the Pad See Ew and Spicy Basil Chicken. Definitely a place to stop by whenever you pass by Berkeley (or live in the Units).
