My New Blog and Thoughts on the New Year

Hello. It’s about time. I’ve wanted to start a blog for a while now…seems like something that I’ll enjoy, as well as a potential huge vacuum of time. We’ll see. What to write about…I’ll start with things I’m thankful for this past year.

I’m thankful for winter break. Because first semester of college was definitely tough, just to getting used to the pace of school and the new environment. This is the first break that I feel like I’ve earned. Winter break has just been amazing. I’ve been telling all my friends just how awesome it’s been. Having nothing to worry about, eating to my heart’s content, sleeping in until the afternoon, hanging out with family and friends, it’s just been so relaxing. Which leads me to my family.

I’m thankful for my family, and even more so now that I’ve been away for so long. Our house flooded several weeks ago, requiring a complete repipe/remodel, which means that everything is in shenanigans, and won’t be back to order until after I head back to Berkeley. But I could care less. I’m just happy to be seeing my family again and spending what little time I have with them.

I’m thankful for my friends, old and new, because they keep me going. Winter break has definitely been a good time for me to catch up with old friends, from high school and church, and I feel like our relationships are still really strong. Just hanging out, talking, eating, watching movies, whatever. I’m enjoying every moment of it.

And finally, I’m thankful for my church. After checking out different fellowships around the Berkeley campus, most good, I still think that my church is one of the most tightly knit families I’ve ever seen and experienced. Period. Just the camaraderie, the sincerity, even the conflicts, show that the friendships at church are real. I’m thankful for the awesome winter retreat, the New Year’s countdown, the youth group meetings. Late night pho runs, intense nerf wars, games, and most importantly the encouragement and accountability.

Alright, that’s it for now. I know this sounded really formal, but I’m trying to find my writing style for this blog. Expect different things in the future. In terms of subject matter, I plan on blogging on anything that’s on my mind. Mostly just random things that are going on. Oh, and expect video logs too. I’ve been vlogging for a bit, and I’m going to resume that once I get back to Berkeley. Coming up…my New Year’s resolutions. That’s it! Welcome to my blog, where I hope to share my life with you, in the way I do best.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!
